I received this from a friend of mine who ministers in China: [And yes, it’s important not to reveal a name]
For security reasons I can’t openly share this, but please feel free to post the content of this without my name or city location to any Christian/prayer groups or friends you want to share with.
We just got a recorded video of a briefing by one of the local universities (and info that this is rolling out nationwide). The Chinese government is about to put forth a major crackdown on ALL Christian belief/activity, even the supposedly legal government-run Three Self Church. Teachers in universities and schools will be interviewed to determine if they hold any faith positions and/or attend any church meetings. They will be forbidden to continue this practice and will face severe disciplinary action if they share this faith with students.
Furthermore, all students, especially university students, will be forbidden to hold or share any faith beliefs.
There has not been an anti-religion push like this since the Cultural Revolution under Mao. We knew security was getting tighter, but this type of violation of basic human rights must be made known. The only thing that has any hope of reversing this horrific action would be widespread, international condemnation by other nations.
By all means, please send this information to your Congressional Representatives and Senators and ask them to raise this issue in the appropriate committees to get public and United Nations attention and condemnation of this attack against faith. Note, this is NOT just a Christian issue either, as this decree is against ANY type of faith position.
Please help spread the word of this any way you can. China does care about its international image— and human rights abuses like this need to be made public if they are to be reversed.
Please continue to pray for the Christians in China, especially the teachers and students who are about to face severe persecution for their faith. Thank you in advance for your prayers and help in raising awareness.
