The Reality Calling Bookstore response to Jesus’s word
The Lord has told me, “Come! Let’s have a little adventure.” The Reality Calling Bookstore response to that word was a surprise to me. I’ve been saying for years that something like this is needed as a resource for the Body of the Messiah. The idea that I should start it is unexpected.
How this will flesh out is not obvious to me, yet. But, I have stepped out of the boat, headed for Jesus and the adventure. Please, pray that His Wisdom will guide this journey—not my personal foolishness. I am fully aware that it will only be fruitful if I remain attached to the Vine.
The Reality Calling Bookstore response is about trust
The vision is a bookstore where readers, pastors, youth leaders, parents can go to find vetted, excellent, powerful, transformational Christian fiction to read and to share with those people for which they’re responsible. Though I haven’t designed the graphics or implemented their use yet, we can guarantee that the books contained in the store are redemptive, at least. Some of them are powerfully spirit-filled. You can see how we rate the spiritual level of the books in our free booklet.
If you’ve not read true spirit-filled fiction, you’re in for a treat. Even solid redemptive fiction will fill your heart with joy. When’s the last time you finished a truly entertaining tale in worship or praise? Several of these books have triggered a heartfelt “Alleluia, praise you, Jesus?” as I finished the story. I’m talking science fiction, fantasy, or action/adventure books. Transformational romances, mysteries, and thrillers are more rare. But, they exist also.
So, what do I need from you?
I desire your prayers most of all. It’s up to the Lord to provide the readers. If you like what we’re doing, share it with your friends, pastors, youth leaders, and whoever the Spirit leads you to talk to. If you have ideas for improvement, please share them. If you have people with whom we need to talk, share that with us also. However, my experience tells me that only people who contact us will be helpful. So, tell them to email us.
Who’s us?
At this point, it’s primarily Peter Younghusband and myself. Deborah Dunson wants to help. And I’m .talking with a few other people. We’re just getting off the shore, looking for the winds of the Spirit to catch in our sails. It promises to be a fun trip.
