Living in a disposable universe
Living in a disposable universe is our reality until the flesh is gone. What we experience in the flesh is a short term universe designed for a specific purpose. Then it will be tossed—dissolved in fire, the greatest fireworks shows we’ll ever see. It was created to give us the free option to choose where we want to be—with Almighty God, or not.
For years I’ve called it the training place of mankind. I even wrote a book about it. The basic plan is simple. God wanted friends, outside of Himself, who choose to love Him, with whom He can have fellowship. Genesis 3:8 may be the saddest verse in scripture. God came walking to have fellowship with Adam and Eve—but they hid themselves.
Jesus prayed in his priestly prayer of John 17 that, “I… pray for… those who will believe in Me… that they may be one [with us] even as We are one.” verses 20-23 What an incredible plan! He needed sin to separate us, so that we can freely choose Him. We’re told that Jesus Messiah, like a lamb without blemish or spot, was destined before the foundation of the world to die for us, to redeem us. 1 Peter 1: 19-20
Living in a disposable universe is reasonable for a Creator
It needs to color all we do. Anything we do outside of that core idea is a waste of time, at best. As authors, that is especially true. We each put immense amounts of time into each book we write and publish. Our books are going to be burnt up. It’s unlikely that they will survive the Bema—unless they successfully transformed the life of one or more of our readers.
The “I didn’t think it mattered,” answer, when we meet Jesus is going to be an obvious lie. Everything we do matters. It’s all part of our testimony.
It’s true that we only have a matter of days to get the people we are praying for, ministering to, safely into the Kingdom. What we learn here, the character built in us, is what we have as we start in the Kingdom, with Jesus forever.
Check it out with the Lord. Ask Him how He wants you to do it. He’ll let you know, for sure.
