Galatians 6:9–10

So we should not allow ourselves to get tired of doing good. At the right time (determined by God) we will harvest His blessing if we don’t give up. Because of this, whenever we are given the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.

This is part of the lifestyle choice we have been talking about. You are reading the writings of a man coming out of a rough time of character development. I’ve seen the light at the end of the tunnel. There have been many opportunities to give up. But I have the sure knowledge that God will bring good out of my life if I persevere. The good comes from Him. The blessing comes from Him. All I can do is the best I can to make myself presentable and available to Him for His use.

I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. [Romans 12:1 & 2 ESV]

Verse 6:11

Notice what large letters I am using while writing these closing words myself.

The normal practice was for teachers to dictate letters to a scribe. With Paul’s probable eye trouble, that may have been especially necessary for him. What this signifies is that what follows is a personal postscript to the letter—Paul’s personal note to his friends.

Verses 6:12–13

Those who are trying to force you to be circumcised are concerned about the opinion of others. They’re seeking to avoid persecution for teaching that only the cross of Jesus our Messiah can save. Plus, those who advocate circumcision don’t keep the whole law themselves. They only want you to be circumcised so they can boast about it and claim you as their disciples.

You can hear the friendly tone of a father to his beloved children—of a teacher to his cherished students. He has explained the concepts already. This is personal advice on the order of Jesus’ explanations of the parables to his disciples. Paul reveals some of himself here.

Dealing with the Narrow Gate

We see that Paul understands that the real problem is the same one we have today. Are we going to share the truth of the Gospel or compromise to avoid offending those who believe there’s another way or an additional way to salvation? Can we compromise without endangering our own salvation? The Gospel will never be politically correct.

Especially in this day as we await the Coming of the King, the temptations to shade the truth and add non-Biblical actions is extreme. Today, support of Israel has become important. Avoiding the religions of evolution, psychology, and sociology requires care in an outward society which assumes these so-called truths. The science portions of these things may be all right, but most of the time in these fields is spent on defending atheistic humanism—which is a religion.
