OK! It’s just another thriller. The first book in The Champion Trilogy. I’ll give you that, but the life of this champion comes pretty close to reality. This is no obnoxious preaching, goody two-shoes hero. God’s ways are far above ours–far beyond our comprehension except in hindsight. Though the story is far-fetched fiction, that action is real, getting very close to Truth. I’d rate it as highly committed evangelical, with not nearly as much about Jesus as I’d like to see.

I normally am bored to death with cops & robbers thrillers. And on that level I didn’t like it (though you will if you like this type of book). But the characters are interesting and well-drawn. The action is intense and fun. I recommend it. But I still like fantasy much better.
