Christian fantasy: The Summoned King: Book One of The Kalymbrian Chronicles by Dave Neuendorf
This book was a joy to read. It is fantasy on a level rarely seen, as an inspiring teen deals with a kingship and arranged marriage out of the blue.

This is type of fantasy I really like
I was able to quickly suspend dis-belief and get into the world Dave created. The characters were complex and believable. The heroes are inspiring. Only the bad guys were slighted a bit because though they were nasty, they were rather thinly drawn. But for me, this is rollicking fun as a man comes to grips with a shocking reality that almost instantly [in a few days] he is a king who most in the kingdom don’t want with a wife who is as shocked as he is by an arraigned marriage.
She has powerful magical abilities, but had not a clue in her agrarian upbringing.
Spiritually, this is excellent religious fiction
There are no transformational rebirths. The Holy Spirit is not part of this tale. yet this new King is a realistic believer in a world which has not a clue about spiritual reality. My hope is that this spiritual content will be developed more in the second book.
I am really looking forward to the second book. I was surprised with this book given to me to review, and grateful to have the opportunity to read and review it with no restrictions.
