Christian political military thriller: The First Hostage by Joel Rosenberg
As usual, Joel writes and exciting, well-crafted tale of end-time possibilities in the Middle East. This is his area of expertise and it shows.

Using a non-believing reporter as the main character is an interesting twist. The entire scenario is believable and compelling. The characters are well-drawn. The world and descriptions of it are solid.
The spiritual accuracy is up for grabs. I hope none of this actually happens, but it could. I’ll be surprised, though. I suspect that the Muslim horde has a relatively short life in the future. But that’s just a Biblical observation. Joel’s fears are well-founded.
Spiritually, it’s 3-star plus
It’s obvious where the author is coming from. There is no rebirth scenario to kick it up to 4-star and certainly nothing spirit-filled. But spiritually, for a book of this type, it works well.
