Nod by Brannon Hollingsworth makes me sad
I don’t like writing reviews like this. I joined a Goodreads Christian book review group. This is the book I was assigned. But, Nod by Brannon Hollingsworth makes me sad. It’s a well-written, exciting, and entertaining little tale. If it were a normal heathen story, that would be my review.
But it wasn’t. It was given me as a Christian story. Sadly, the book does not meet the minimal criteria. No Jesus, no Holy Spirit, no spiritual reality revealed itself in this tale.

Nod by Brannon Hollingsworth makes me sad
As I said, it’s a fun ride. However, I saw no spiritual reality. As one experienced in spiritual deliverance, this creation has nothing to do with any spiritual reality I have ever experienced. I have a wide range of experience—occult and Christian. This story lies outside of all of it.
Of course, once the hero identified the demon, in reality he could have gotten rid of the problem with a simple prayer. But, that would not be entertaining, but joyful and awesome. That’s why I’m sad.
That being said, in these days of the great apostasy, I’m sure many will enjoy it. As I said, I enjoyed it. But it’s not Christian.
As mentioned, I was given a copy to review with no restrictions. I’m thankful for the opportunity.
