But, seek the anointing constantly minute-by-minute
But, seek the anointing constantly minute-by-minute, hour-by-hour, day-by day. These are perilous times. We need a fresh word from the Lord constantly—if we want to be fruitful in these changing times.
At this time, the change is constant, and relentless. All of us, in our daily lives, need fresh guidance, need the Lord to show us what to do. This is what the Lord kept on me about in church this morning.
Seek anointing constantly in this time of rapid change
Jesus showed me that graphically yesterday—strong and clear. I sat down to write about nine. I had no clue what to write. I didn’t know what was coming next. I had no idea where the Lord was heading with the plot or the characters. And there was nothing—for hour after hour.
Finally, after noon reality dawned on me. “I never asked the Lord for the anointing,” I told the dogs. They wagged their tails.
So, I did the obvious, “Lord Jesus, I need your anointing. Only you can show me what will be effective in changing the lives of my readers. Touch me by your Holy Spirit so we can transform people.”
Within thirty seconds, the ideas began flowing again. I wrote non-stop for over four hours, and added nearly three thousand words to the novel. It was amazing stuff, that would have never occurred to me. It just seemed [to my conscious senses] like I was writing as always. But I could see the change in the quality of the output that I desire—even if I couldn’t feel it. The anointing had fallen—again.
We’re living in I Timothy 3 — perilous times
The Amplified says it like this: “But understand this, that in the last days will come (set in) perilous times of great stress and trouble [hard to deal with and hard to bear].”
Good has become evil, and evil become good. We are in the times of the signs. Everything that must be fulfilled has been fulfilled for Jesus to come and take us out of here before it gets REALLY bad. We [separately & corporately] need to talk with Jesus and ask for His anointing — ALL…THE…TIME.
