Dying is no big deal Philippians 1:21
Verse 1:21
For me to live is the Kingdom of God and to die is even better
Here I use the phrase Kingdom of God because in the context of this statement it is clear that Paul is talking about living within the body of Jesus—not about the individual person of Jesus. The reality of the Kingdom of God here on earth is only limited by your faith. If you trust and open your eyes, you will see it.
This is one of the things you really need to get a handle on. Dying is no big deal. It is not a bad thing. It is a wonderful thing to be free at last—thank God Almighty, free at last!
So many Christians are motivated by the need to avoid death. They are desperate to escape the blessing of going home.
Jesus spoke of this clearly in Matthew 6:27 [NLT]
Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
The foolishness of modern medicine in getting us to do things because they “increase our chances of living longer” amazes me. You cannot lengthen your life. I’m not even sure how much you can change your health. You can make yourself feel better. But you cannot avoid what you have been assigned.
All of us have conditions in life to try us
For many these are health conditions. Even Smith Wigglesworth, the amazing man of God with an incredible healing ministry, had a bad heart condition that the Lord didn’t heal. His book, Ever Increasing Faith, is a must read for all believers. He saw huge numbers of people healed and raised the dead. But as you know well, many of our prayers for healing either go unanswered or they are perfectly answered when the person we are praying for gets to go home to be with the Lord. Therein is perfect healing—forever.
We are guaranteed spiritual healing—all we have to do is ask for it and persistently work to allow Him to do it in us. He will fill us with His Holy Spirit, empower us to live the Christian life, and give us a fruitful ministry.
Physical healing is simply misunderstood. Yes, God heals. Yes, He heals miraculously when He wants to. He can cause tumors to drop out of your body. He can make pacemakers disappear. But that is never guaranteed. What could be better than the chance to go home and be with the Lord forever? Paul clearly understands this.
